A Weekend in Paradise

Boracay is one of the most popular beaches here in the Philippines. It is known for it's fine white sand and blue green water. We went there last year and spent a weekend in February.

Travel time:
55 minute flight from Manila to Kalibo
1 hour and 45 minute bus ride from Kalibo to Caticlan
10 minute boat ride from Caticlan to Cagban Ferry Port(Boracay Island)
20 to 30 minute tricycle ride from Cagban Ferry Port to Escondido Beach Resort Boracay
(Left image: Our boat ride going to Boracay)

We availed of the PALakbayan's package and stayed at the Escondido Beach Resort. The resort isn't beach front but it's just a minute's walk to the beach. We had 2 double beds in our room, TV, air-conditioning and veranda. The place is nice. It's very quiet and the people are courteous and accommodating.

Tricia outside our room and behind her is our breakfast table. Other pic is inside our room.

Day 1:

Despite the heat, we still managed to take a walk down the beach, go to D'Mall and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, we went jet-skiing!

Day 2:

The day was pretty hectic! We woke up and it was raining all morning. We then decided to have brunch and by 11am the sun is up and smiling down on us. We then hired a boat to go snorkeling and caving.

All set to go snorkeling!

We went to Crystal Cove and stood on the top of the mountain overlooking the sea.

Take while in one of the caves
Caving!

Day 3:

We went shopping for goodies, took a few minutes walk along the beach and headed back home.

It was quite a short trip and there are still many activities you can do in Boracay. We'll definitely be back to experience the rest.
